This special workshop class focused on Women's Self-Defense will cover 5 techniques paired with 5 important key concepts.
This workshop is lead by Relson Gracie Self-Defense certified Instructors, Greg Bartman and Tori Garten, whose combination of technical instruction paired with understanding women's unique concerns and experiences make this a powerful class not to be missed!
The class will cover an assortment of self-defense physical techniques for a variety of situations, such as grabs, shoves, holds, and what happens if the situation ends up on the ground. Along with the physical techniques we will discuss verbal and emotional/mental self-defense concepts. We'll cover a few self-defense myths and offer alternative solutions.
The statistics for violence and assault can be frightening and frequently women react to these statistics in two ways 1) Ignoring: "It won't happen to me because of such and such," or 2) Over-vigilance that affects a women's quality of life.
We look to empower women with the knowledge and skills to put the emotional response in its place and be able to respond to the situation at hand. The blend of verbal, mental and physical self-defense techniques will definitely boost self-confidence. Many women find it impacts their life in more ways than just how they walk through a parking garage.
If you are wondering whether or not you can do it - you can! The hardest part is walking through the door.

The Rockledge Fitness Center is located on the 5th floor in an office building. There is visitor parking behind the building. Take the elevators to the 5th floor to reach the gym. Gym membership is not required, however payments for the classes are handled through the gym.
You will need a picture ID to enter the building and will need to sign the visitor log.
